Knitting While Healing   7 comments

Has it really been a week since the last post?   To be honest, it doesn’t feel like it, it feels longer to me.  Sorry about that.  I didn’t mean to go that long.  The problem was, I didn’t want to bore you with more of the same.  I hadn’t really knit as much as I thought I would.  Maybe a row a day.  All I was really interested in doing was sleeping and staring into space.  Darn pain meds!!!  Thankfully, I’m off of them and life is getting back to normal.  I have 7 more days of relaxation and recovery before I have to return to work, but, it won’t be all relaxation.  I have a few appointments for both Physical Therapy and the dentist.  I’m trying to get as much in as possible before I return to work.

The week hasn’t been without acquisitions as well.  I have way too many enablers out there and I love you all. 🙂  I signed up to be a part of the Knitgirllls SAL and pre-ordered 8 oz of fiber from Tempted Yarns.  I do believe that there is till time to pre-order fiber and if it runs out, Stacy will add more.  The SAL doesn’t start until April so it is perfect timing for me as I should be able to start spinning again by then.

My Mom really liked the cowl that I made for my daughter and so I got some yarn to make her one and it will go on the needles probably after my swap shawl is completed.  Some various sock yarns came and are still coming into the house as well, including four skeins of Lorna’s Laces in the Robot Overlord colorway that I’ve been wanting forever to knit up into a shawl.

The acquisition that got me really excited was a set of Signature Needle Arts Circular needles.  I got sizes US 3 through US 7 with a 5″ stiletto tip stalk for a total length of 32″.  I immediately transferred the swap shawl over to them when they arrived.   They knit the yarn up like a dream.  Yarn slides like buttah. 🙂  Is it bad of me to say that I want more?  I really want smaller sizes for socks and hopefully they go into production soon.

With all these acquisitions, I’ll be glad to return to work, lol.  I’m off to knit some more on my swap shawl.  Have a great night everyone and Happy Knitting!!!  🙂

  1. I love the point on those needles very nice. I may have to start saving up to get my self of those.

  2. Karen, I agree – but – I’m curious: no “poke-thru” issue for you on the cords? they’re a bit flimsier than the previous iteration of cords (which I worship) – I’m still debating on mine … so happy that you’re on the road to recovery!

    • I haven’t had any issues so far with the swap shawl that I’m knitting – my thought is that I’ll have that issue come the sock size needles because I’ll be magic looping rather than two circs because of the cost of them – I may just have to splurge on two circs

  3. well, I’ve got to tell you that their DPNs are phenomenal, if you’re ever in the mood to try them –

  4. I’ve been hoping for sock sizes for the circs, too. I prefer the middy tip (I think it’s the middy :-D) – I think most people prefer the stiletto like you.

Glad you are healing well 🙂
