I made a stop into Zabars for some of their wonderful olives. They have some very unusual ones as well. Red, Green and Black; garlic, jalapeno, spicy, Greek, Italian. All good and all to savor.

Next, I went into Knitty City and knit for a little while before I had to go to the next appointment of the day.

Today was the first meeting of New York Cares and The Purl Foundation. It was a great turnout and we had many new knitters that we brought into the fold. To start, we are knitting scarves and squares to be made into blankets. Once they are completed, they will be distributed to the homeless of NYC. It truly was the start of something wonderful. The next meeting will be in September.

I turned the heel on the Watermelon Sock and should have off the needles by Monday night. I really like how this is turning out. I must look for the Kiwi version of this yarn at some point.

It’s back to the office tomorrow. Very mixed emotion about it. I have to look at it this way: it supports my fibery habits.

Off to get rested. Have a great night and Happy Knitting!!!
