OT – Taylor Hicks   Leave a comment

So I woke up this morning about 4:00 AM and was out of the house by 5:00 to go to Bryant Park to see Taylor Hicks perform. When I got there, there were already about 50 people in front of me and by the time they let us in at 6:45 AM, there were about 300 behind me.

After the sound check, we stood around waiting for about 1/2 hour and around 8:30 we had the concert that you see on TV with Good Morning America.

Taylor is by far one of the best that has come out of American Idol. He was so comfortable on the stage and so in his element.

He sang for his first song Do I Make You Proud and he dedicated it to our troops. I have to say that I wasn’t impressed with this song when he sang it on the show, but I very much enjoyed it this morning. They way he “taylorized” it was wonderful.

Then the dancing came. Taking It To The Streets and boy did he!

For his last song, Taylor picked up the guitar and sang Livin’ In The City. An awesome ballad.

All in all, it was a good time and the rain held out. I’ll get my voice back in time to see next weeks concert at the park. Huey Lewis and the News (I’m dating myself here).

Now, back to the knitting! 🙂
